Diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directorate General of American and European Affairs“Studying at this school has been a transformative journey.” Sekolah Pilar Indonesia is more than just a school; it is a place where students are nurtured, inspired, and empowered to embrace our heritage, appreciate diversity, and become compassionate, knowledgeable individuals. My experience at Sekolah Pilar Indonesia has been instrumental in shaping my worldview, and I will forever be grateful for the education, values, and opportunities the school has provided. Studying at this school has been a transformative journey that has greatly influenced who I am today. This institution not only provided me with a top-notch education but also instilled in me a deep appreciation for Indonesian culture while equipping me with a global perspective and knowledge that has expanded my horizons. I graduated from Sekolah Pilar Indonesia in 2016. I continued my education as a Bachelor of Economics from Gajah Mada University and Master of Political Science from Australian National University. I am working as a diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was assigned to the Directorate General of American and European Affairs. Sekolah Pilar Indonesia’s values and culture have made me an agent of change. I learnt communication skills, in English and Indonesian, which is essential for communicating with people from different countries and cultures. It makes me more confident to negotiate effectively to resolve conflicts and reach agreements to maintain national sovereignty.

Project Engineer“My time at SPI provided me with a solid foundation in both technical and soft skills.” Upon graduating in 2014, I pursued a degree in Civil Engineering at Universitas Tarumanagara. Currently, I work as a project engineer on a construction site in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. One of my most cherished school experiences was the student exchange programme in Adelaide, Australia. Living with a host family for two weeks was an unforgettable experience. Studying abroad opened my eyes to different cultures, languages, and ways of life, broadening my perspective and providing me with the opportunity to meet new people from around the globe. I learnt to be more responsible and independent by managing my time, budget, and well-being, which aligned perfectly with SPI's vision of fostering independent, highly principled individuals who appreciate diversity. Another highlight was the Student-Led Conference. I prepared for the event by compiling a portfolio showcasing my best work, which I then presented to my parents and teachers. This experience enhanced my self-confidence and communication skills, allowing me to share my challenges and aspirations for future growth."

These experiences not only built my leadership and teamwork skills but also instilled a sense of responsibility and community spirit. Additionally, the Three-Way and Student-Led Conferences, where students, teachers, and parents collaborated to discuss learning achievements, played a significant role in my personal and academic growth. Doctor in MH Thamrin Hospital“I developed communication, collaboration and problem solving skills through class projects.” I graduated from Sekolah Pilar Indonesia in 2016. I continued my study, taking medical school in Pelita Harapan University (UPH). I actively wrote some journals. I was the first author of the research about "Knowledge, Attitude and Practice in Indonesian Health Care Workers Regarding COVID 19" in Asia Pacific Journal of Public Health. I was also a medical pathway tutor in UPH. After I graduated from the university, I joined a doctor internship in a public hospital, RSUD Kab. Bintan, Kepulauan Riau. I will continue my education and dedicate my life to becoming a doctor. Currently, I am a research assistant. There were some publications I was involved with, such as A Systematic Review for World Ophthalmology Conference and A Case Report for Congress ESOPRS 2022 held in France. Sekolah Pilar Indonesia is a good medium for growth. There were learning activities which allowed us to explore science and healthcare. Lab activities and guest speakers could spark curiosity about the human body and health. Class assemblies provided rooms for students to demonstrate skills in performing art, music and drama. I developed communication, collaboration and problem solving skills through class projects. The school instilled cultural values and soft skills. When I was in the Pilar Student Council, we organised keroncong festivals for youth across Indonesia. I got an opportunity to work with my friends, organising such a big event. We were very proud to be part of a concrete action to preserve Indonesian culture. All of the experiences really helped me in interacting with others. Thank you, SPI!
