“I learnt many things from public speaking to networking with many people.” Studying at Sekolah Pilar Indonesia has given me extraordinary experiences in developing my soft and hard skills. I learnt many things from public speaking to networking with many people. I became more confident in problem solving, which ultimately had an impact on my life at college and at work. I went to Sekolah Pilar Indonesia from Primary to Senior High. I graduated in 2017 and continued my study in geophysics engineering at Pertamina University. Currently I work as an engineer at PT Cipta Kridatama, a well-known mining company. I am based in Kalimantan to assess the potential of the mine site, ensure the safety of equipment used and supervise the running of the mine. I am very proud to contribute to the downstream mining industry in Indonesia. The positive school environment at Sekolah Pilar Indonesia had taught me to be more responsible for my own learning. The teachers challenged us to develop our potential. Sekolah Pilar Indonesia graduates are able to compete globally in terms of critical thinking, creativity and communication. Thank you, Sekolah Pilar Indonesia.

“I developed communication, collaboration and problem solving skills through class projects.” I graduated from Sekolah Pilar Indonesia in 2016. I continued my study, taking medical school in Pelita Harapan University (UPH). I actively wrote some journals. I was the first author of the research about "Knowledge, Attitude and Practice in Indonesian Health Care Workers Regarding COVID 19" in Asia Pacific Journal of Public Health. I was also a medical pathway tutor in UPH. After I graduated from the university, I joined a doctor internship in a public hospital, RSUD Kab. Bintan, Kepulauan Riau. I will continue my education and dedicate my life to becoming a doctor. Currently, I am a research assistant. There were some publications I was involved with, such as A Systematic Review for World Ophthalmology Conference and A Case Report for Congress ESOPRS 2022 held in France. Sekolah Pilar Indonesia is a good medium for growth. There were learning activities which allowed us to explore science and healthcare. Lab activities and guest speakers could spark curiosity about the human body and health. Class assemblies provided rooms for students to demonstrate skills in performing art, music and drama. I developed communication, collaboration and problem solving skills through class projects. The school instilled cultural values and soft skills. When I was in the Pilar Student Council, we organised keroncong festivals for youth across Indonesia. I got an opportunity to work with my friends, organising such a big event. We were very proud to be part of a concrete action to preserve Indonesian culture. All of the experiences really helped me in interacting with others. Thank you, SPI!

“I am grateful to Sekolah Pilar Indonesia for shaping my educational journey...” I spent my formative years from Primary to Senior High School at Sekolah Pilar Indonesia. My learning journey was filled with enriching experiences and valuable lessons that shaped my academic and professional path. During my school years, I actively participated in various activities that sharpened my skills and broadened my horizons. I was involved in Parent Presentations, Pilar Student Council, participated in the live-in programme and Bela Negara Camp, and showcased my Personal Project in an exhibition. These experiences not only built my leadership and teamwork skills but also instilled a sense of responsibility and community spirit. During my Senior High School, the school emphasised the 7 Habits programme which equipped me with essential life skills. Additionally, the Three-Way and Student-Led Conferences, where students, teachers, and parents collaborated to discuss learning achievements, played a significant role in my personal and academic growth. Upon graduating from Sekolah Pilar Indonesia, I was accepted into Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), where I majored in Information Systems and Technology. My time at ITB further strengthened my technical and analytical abilities, preparing me for the professional world. Today, I am proud to be part of Deloitte as a Technology Strategy and Transformation Analyst. My journey from Sekolah Pilar Indonesia to Deloitte has been guided by the solid foundation and support I received during my school years. The skills and values instilled in me have been instrumental in my achievements and continue to drive my professional endeavours. I am grateful to Sekolah Pilar Indonesia for shaping my educational journey and providing me with the tools to succeed.

“One of the habits that I think is very important and relevant is Begin with the End in Mind.” I joined SPI in Grade 7. I learnt English from a beginner level, while my friends were more advanced, but I kept reading books and practising my speaking skills. I had the opportunity to learn about leadership by participating in the Pilar Student Council (PSC). I was the vice president of the Senior High PSC. My PSC friends and I organised various fun activities, which developed my communication and collaboration skills. I learnt about the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. One of the habits that I think is very important and relevant is Begin with the End in Mind. At SPI, I learnt to set goals, which helped me to achieve my dreams. I think it was a good decision for me to invest my teenage time in learning new skills, taking opportunities, broadening my knowledge, and discovering new passions and talents. I participated in various school programmes, such as the Personal Project Exhibition. I designed and made solar-powered batteries. I learnt about designing, prototyping, and problem-solving. After high school, I continued my education at the University of Indonesia, majoring in Physics. Then, I enrolled in another programme the next year and got a degree in Marine Engineering. I could manage to balance my academic and organisational activities. After graduating, I worked in the shipping and marine engineering field. Currently, I have a full scholarship to continue my master's degree in renewable energy, in South Hampton, UK.
